David Wethey is founder and chairman of Agency Assessments International, the agency search and selection consultancy. What does he search for at the weekend?
It's the weekend, how do you feel?
Obviously pleased the week is over. I travel a lot and aim to be back by Friday night if at all possible. I never accept a business engagement on Friday evening unless it's a matter of life or death. Home on the train to Reading, and a big drink. That's the routine.
What's your favourite Friday night drink?
Wine - before and during dinner. Chivas after. We always try and have dinner at the Golf Club with friends.
Do you ever work on weekends?
Always. It's the problem with running your own business and spending 30-50 per cent of your time away from the office. There are always proposals and reports to write, agency credentials and creative work to view. Then there is the small matter of admin - including getting the invoices out! I'm lucky in that my wife looks after all the work round the house, so I can divide weekends between office work and a bit of leisure.
How do you feel about it?
Don't have a problem with it.
What's your favourite weekend activity?
Golf. I'm a member of three clubs and take every opportunity to play - and tell David Houldsworth (My Weekend 18th March) I've actually played four rounds at Augusta!
If you could spend the weekend with anyone in the world who would it be and why?
Given a generous allocation of time for the big weekend, I would dearly love to spend a weekend at a Test Match abroad with the BBC Test Match Special team - staying as far away as possible from the Barmy Army.
Where would you go?
Preferably Australia.
