In February 2006 The Remuneration Guide was launched, the product of a major joint industry initiative to identify common ground for remuneration practices between ISBA, the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising, the Marketing Communications Consultants’ Association and Public Relations Consultants’ Association.
David Wethey of AAI was the consultant on these guidelines which incorporate a 10-step process for negotiating agency remuneration as well as the 7 principal methods of remuneration (plus two ‘hybrid’ methods) which are used across the industry, describing the key advantages and disadvantages of each.
This launch is the latest in the suite of best practice guides that have been published since 2003. Others include Finding an Agency – the guide to agency search and selection. This wide-ranging guide includes the top ten issues to consider before undertaking a review, and key guidelines on agency search and selection.
